The Fashion Technology Department of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines organized a one-day workshop on “Hand Painting and Block Painting”. 20 students participated in the hands-on workshop to learn the skill of art and painting. Mrs. Jatinder Kaur, Faculty, Dept. of Fashion Technology, GGNIMT was the resource person for the day. She demonstrated hand painting  using different techniques. She elaborated the role of brush thickness, color mixing and shading to enhance the art work. The students were provided with fabric, colors and brushes to practice the skill. Mrs. Jatinder Kaur  also showcased the art of block printing. She explained the process of preparing the colors for the block painiting and gave tips and tricks for its durability on the fabric.

Students thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and demanded more of such creative sessions in future.  Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT said that painting can be a great podium for children to progress and discover their creativity. They learn about various color mixtures and how they go together. He further pointed out that the Department of Fashion Technology at GGNIMT is committed to impart significant skills to the students for their overall growth and success.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT inspired the students to get  awareness and exposure of every possible domain. He exhorted that one needs to be street smart to do well in life. He assured the students  that the Institute would  keep conducting creative workshops in  future for the  benefit of the students.

The session concluded with the certificate distribution ceremony.
