To assert Bhagat Singh’s ideas about “Aim of Life”, NSS unit and Thinkers’ Forum of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi Road organized a signature campaign in the city on the occasion of Martydom day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru Ji and Shaheed Sukhdev Ji.

Showcasing banners describing “Aim of Life” as written originally in the handwriting of Shaeed-e-Azam, 80 students along with 5 faculty members went to busy market places of the city (Haibowal, Model Town, GhumarMandi , Feroze Gandhi Market and Jamalpur) to make people to read and follow his message about life. The passers-by, in large number, willingly signed the banner as a mark of acceptance to follow the path shown by him.

The event got an overwhelming response with more than three thousand people putting their signature after reading Bhagat Singh’s text about ‘Aim of life’. The participating students showed immense enthusiasm and covered the event live on social media to make it reach a larger group.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT said that Bhagat Singh is undoubtedly one of the most influential revolutionaries in the history of Indian Independence. He did not only take an active part in the freedom struggle but also inspired many other youths to join the same not only while he was alive but even after his death. He further mentioned that we at GGNIMT believe in transforming our students into useful and responsible citizens of the nation and  through such events we can motivate our students to imbibe the qualities of the unforgetful hero.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT while talking to the media said that Bhagat Singh remains one of India’s youth icons even 87 years after being hanged. He exhorted that there is a need to highlight the extraordinary philosophy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh – The man who stood for progress. “An event like this will not only remind people of Bhagat Singh’s ideologies but would help the youth draw tremendous amount of inspiration from the martyr”, he added. He appreciated the students and club conveners for putting up a great show.
