Gujranwala Khalsa Education council (GKEC), a hundred year old trust running various colleges and schools at LUDHIANA, has come to the help of needy and meritorious students of Ludhiana city who want to pursue higher education but face difficulties because of financial problems.

There are so many students who are competent but cannot afford higher education because of the financial constraints. To facilitate the higher education to such students, GKEC announced scholarship plans. Anyone, who has done 10 + 2 or graduation in any stream, can avail admission in any of the courses at GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi. While elaborating the plan, Gursharan Singh Narula, President, GKEC said that anyone who has scored more than 70% marks in 10+ 2 or graduation will be given scholarships to pursue their career. Similarly, any student who is a single girl child will also be entitled for financial help. Moreover, children of single parent mothers will also be helped by GKEC for higher studies. Students form weak financial backgrounds will also be given upfront scholarships after verifying their claims, he added. He said that Gujranwala Khalsa Education Council is running GGNIMTand other institutions in Ludhiana and it is it is a hundred years old trust serving the society. The objective of scholarship and financial help plan is to provide the best facilities in the form of faculty, Laboratories, training and placement opportunities.

Dr S.P. Singh, former vice chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University and honorary general secretary, GKEC said that the council is committed to social service by providing affordable and quality education to all sections of society. The students who get very good marks in 10 + 2 and graduation can pursue any course at GGNIMT from the upcoming session and avail benefits. Similarly, the hardworking and meritorious students from poor families will get the hand holding from GKEC as well.

 Prof. Manjeet Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, said that the institution provides regular approved degree courses in  Hotel Management, Fashion Technology, BBA, BCA and B.Com (honours) apart from MBA and MCA after graduation. The scholarships of amount running in lacs are offered every year to needy and meritorious students who have to apply on First Come First serve basis without any delay. They can meet the admission guidance experts at GGNIMT campus on any working day.

 Dr. Harpreet Singh, principal, GGNIMT said that such students will also be given non financial help in terms of facilities like book bank, free training in soft skills, communication skills, workshops and extensive industrial interactions. They will also be given free of cost training in various fields of study for their better employability potential, he added.
