Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, organized a webinar on role of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
Over 300 participants, including students, professionals, academicians and technocrats across the city participated in the session.
Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, accorded a warm welcome to the gathering and said artificial intelligence and machine learning have reached a critical tipping point and will increasingly augment and extend virtually every technology enabled service.
Prof. Satinderjit Singh, Head, Department of Computer Applications, GGNIMT while presenting the rationale of the webinar said that it might be easier to state what part of our modern society artificial intelligence (AI) hasn’t touched as yet to show how important it is to our daily lives, business operations and society.
Mr. Anshu , Founder, Ansh Technologies was the key resource person for the day. He initiated the session by the sensitizing the students about how Artificial intelligence has dramatically changed the business landscape. He said that what started as a rule-based automation is now capable of mimicking human interaction. He further mentioned that it is not just the human-like capabilities that make artificial intelligence unique but also the advanced AI algorithms that offer far better speed and reliability at a much lower cost as compared to its human counterparts.
While talking about the immense scope of this field, Mr. Anshu elaborated on the various application areas of Artificial Intelligence that included Healthcare, Education, Autonomous Vehicles, Social Media, Travel Industry and Businesses.
He also demonstrated a few AI based projects to make the participants understand and appreciate the real technicalities involved in an AI project.
Dr. Harpreet Singh Principal , GGNIMT proposed the vote of thanks. He appreciated the resource person for delivering valuable insights into the topic. He further said that AI is a central tenet for the disruptive changes of the 4th Industrial Revolution; a revolution that will likely challenge our ideas about what it means to be a human and just might be more transformative than any other industrial revolution we have seen yet.
