Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi being run by Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), organized a webinar on “Role of Machine Learning and Robotics.”
More than two hundred participants including students, professionals, academicians and researchers joined the session on Role of Machine leaning and Robotics that is playing a vital role in Global development.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, director, GGNIMT, in his inaugural remarks said that Machine learning aids robots to function with their developed applications and a deep vision. “Machine learning involves enormous caches of data to be taught to the robot for its perfect learning which contains algorithms and physical machines to aid the robots for the Global Development,”, he said.
While delivering the rational of the webinar, Prof. Satinderjit Singh, Head Dept. of Computer Application, GGNIMT discussed about the three pillars of machine learning and increased use of robots in modern life. He also answered questions – Can we fully trust Machine Learning/ Robots?
Dr. Usha Batra, Associate Dean Head Dept. of School of Engineering Science GD Goenika University, New Delhi discussed in details about the concept machine learning as analytical model building .She also stress upon how artificial intelligence using data can help identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human interventions. She also touched upon data mining, clustering and dimensionality reduction etc.
Dr. Sachin Kansal, Assistant Professor, Thapar University, Patiala he focused on Robotics play a big part nowadays in many areas of different industries, using such companies as to help transform their manufacturing and output to assist in elevating their business. He said, “A robot can assist you, communicate with you, and potentially replace you if needed. Paired up with artificial intelligence, machine learning, computing, and the right software implementation, robotics can create a customized machine that can do anything. ”. He emphasized on the important of Robotics where Robotic science has a tremendous scope as a career option as robots play an important role in the industrial sector.
Dr. SP Singh, president GKEC and former Vice Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, gave his valedictory remarks and share his opinion about the webinar with the participants. He said, “Machine learning is one of the advanced and innovative technological fields today in which robotics is being influenced”. Machine learning and robotics is at the top developers’ priority list for 2016 that is reflected as 56.4% of participants build robotic apps and 24.7% of them indicate the use of machine learning in their project, he added.
While proposing the vote of Thanks, Dr. Harpreet Singh, principal GGNIMT said that Advances in machine learning are making robots smarter at pick-and place operations, drones more autonomous, and the Industrial Internet of Things more connected, this were machine learning can be of great help, he added. He thanked the guest for sparing their valuable time
