This season is all about Karva Chauth vibes and students of GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) situated at Ghumar Mandi were not behind anyone in celebrating the festivities enthusiastically. The college organized a grand activity of Mehndi competition for the students from various departments namely MBA, BCA, MCA, BCom, BBA, Hotel Management and B.Sc Fashion Designing. They participated and applied henna on each other’s hands. More than 50 students participated and made beautiful mehndi designs.
The criteria for the judgement were creativity, speed & neatness. The judges of the event were Prof. Gurleen Kaur, Head, Department of Fashion Design, Prof. Rajul Jain, Assistant Processor, Fashion Design and Dr Ramandeep Kaur from Department of Computer Applications. The competition was so tough as students showed very unique creative designs and it was difficult to finalize the top three winners.
Prof Gurleen Kaur said that such activities not only help in creativity build-up, but also increase the morale of the students as they get a platform to showcase their skills.

The director of college, Professor Manjit Singh Chhabra, said cultural and social activities are the way to give wings to the students who are talented and aspire to reach to new heights. Such activities like mehndi designing make the students enjoy these festive times.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, principal GGNIMT appreciated the students for their efforts saying this generation is filled with creative instincts. They only need a stage and institutions can strive to provide that.
