The NSS club of GGN Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) Ghumar Mandi , Civil Lines organised a “Cycle Rally” starting from the college campus. The purpose behind this rally was to offer thanks to corona warriors, on the day of Thanks Giving, who had worked selflessly during pandemic times.
Approximately 60 students from various courses named BBA, B.Com(H), BCA, BHMCT, B.Sc (Fashion Designing), MBA and MCA took part in rally. The students were all excited and participated enthusiastically.
Ramanpreet Singh a student from B.Com(H) third semester said ‘we owe our lives to corona warriors. It is because of them our life is back on track again’
Another students Manpreet Kaur from MBA first said ‘Being students our college life was completely disrupted due to pandemic but doctors, healthcare workers and police officials streamlined our system’
The rally started off from GGNIMT Campus and moved to Ghumar Mandi Chownk, Govt. College Boys, Rose Garden, Fountain Chownk, Bharat Nagar Chownk and ended at GGNIMT Campus only.
Dr. SP Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and Former VC, GNDU motivated the students for the rally and said youth is the nation’s power. If youth is able to recognise the efforts of covid volunteers and is taking initiatives to thank them, then the future is in safe hands.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director said ‘Corona warriors worked selflessly. This rally is a small gesture from college as a gratitude to them’.
‘The social, business and educational system suffered during pandemic times. Healthcare workers, police officals, doctors worked without thinking about their own personal lives. We are grateful for their efforts’ said Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT
