Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology-GGNIMT, Civil Lines as a part of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations is organising Global Gyaan a series of interactive webinars for interaction between GGNIMT Alumnus settled abroad and its students. Continuing with the series, Gursimran Jeet Tiwana, Director Cyber Security, RABBON, Australia and also a GGNIMT BCA Alumnus of 1997-2000 spoke on Cyber Security and related issues. Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT underscored the rationale for the Cyber Security Sector ‘”It is predicted that there will be a spend of roughly $10 billion of global expenses on Cyber Security measures by 2027, as a response against catastrophic cyber attack losses in recent times. He hope that the webinar would not only cover the arena of cyber security but also help understand how vulnerable, cloud services, diverse range of devices and IoT technology are”.
Gursimran Jeet Tiwana emphasized that though we are embracing the Cyber world due to convenience, reduced costs and speed of transmission the threat of hacking or disruption could lead to huge losses for organizations and even compromise the security interests of nations. He elaborated on the concept of CIA- Confidentiality, Integrity and Accessibility as the mantra for security of data which is now the most important resource for organizations and nations. Tiwana also emphasized on the importance for students to conduct their SWOT analysis, develop their communication and interpersonal skills, also groom themselves for leadership skills without compromising with their self respect. He also advised the students to cultivate reading habits, learn about other cultures, learn management skills of data analysis and presentation, practice empathy and also develop their decision making skills.
