The Institution Innovation Cell (IIC) of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines Ludhiana organized an industrial visit to Avon Cycles Ltd., one of the global leaders in the bicycle sector. Students were mentored by Dr. Ripudaman Kaur and Prof. Paramjit Singh during the visit.
Through this visit students were able to get a first hand exposure to the automated assembly lines for the manufacturing of bicycles. GGNIMTians explored different departments and understood the functioning of a global company. Students were briefed about the various steps involved in the quality control and also its significance for brand building.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT expressed his gratitude to Mr. Deepak Jain, Asst Vice President, Avon Cycles for very kindly facilitating the industrial visit. Principal GGNIMT Dr. Parvinder Singh hoped this visit was an eye opener for MBA students helping them experience R&D, production, quality control, packaging and their interlinkages.
Sagar, an MBA student, was impressed by the value and the supply chain of Avon Cycles. Sukhpreet, another student, was amazed by the quality and productivity initiatives of the company. Prof. Satinderjit Singh, President IIC assured the students of planning more industrial visits for them in future.
