NSS Unit of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil lines, Ludhiana in association with the Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana organised the “Green Diwali campaign” at its campus today. Objectives of this campaign were to adopt eco friendly local products like divas, candles etc and also to shun products for celebrating plastic free eco friendly “GREEN DIWALI”.
More than 100 students and 30 faculty members pledged their commitment to ‘Swachh Diwali Shubh Diwali’ campaign. They also pledged by, ” Saying NO to Single Use Plastic for a clean & green Diwali.’
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT shared the importance of eco friendly GREEN DIWALI and how GGNIMT is progressing towards a sustainable and eco friendly campus. He also appreciated the efforts of Prof. Jagmeet Singh and Prof. Gurleen Kaur, NSS coordinators and also the NSS Unit students for organising this event.
Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh exhorted the students to Walk their Talk, by not only spreading this message with their friends and relatives but also to proactively contribute towards the goal of a Green Ludhiana
