Entrepreneurship Club of GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi and GGNIVS organized an entrepreneurship event, Spring Fest 2024 at its Campus today. Spring Fest was inaugurated by Dr. SP Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council and former vice chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
In this event, GGNIMT students from Departments of Business Management, Hospitality, Computer Applications and Fashion Designing set up stalls to showcase their marketing and creative skills. Students of Bachelor of Hotel Management & Catering Technology set up stalls of multiple cuisines ranging from South Indian, Chinese, Continental and Mughlai. They tried hands on setting up creative stalls with fun names as IT Golgappe wale, Game on Top, Sips & Savor, Shakes Corner, Friends Fun Factory, Swaad da ni maada, Taste of Happiness, 1313 da Zaika, Bhukkad Returns and Tandoori Bites. The students of B.Sc Fashion Designing, set up stalls named Panache Returns to showcase handmade items like scrunches, coasters along with nail extension corner, selfie point and swing.
Winners of the Bazaar- Business Excellence contest were stall 7 & 8 Swaad da nai mada 2.0 of course BHMCT bagged the first position. Second position was bagged by stall no 1 and 10 Panache returns of B.Sc FD course & 1313 da zaika from BHMCT respectively. Third position was grabbed by IT Golgappe wale and Friends Fun Factory from Computer applications. Participants were judged on the basis of their product portfolio, customer handling, ambience and merchandising.
In order to provide a Fair like ambience multiple cultural contests like Solo Dance, Fun filled sports like races and a Tug of War competition was also organized. The GGNIMT Men’s team of BCA 4 bagged first position after undergoing a series of tough rounds. Second prize was bagged by BBA 4th class. Girls not to be left behind also participated in the event and department of business management girls won the first prize while the fashion designing department girls won the second prize. From GGNIVS team of BBA 2nd Semester won first position and students from BBA 4th semester bagged second.
The event of dance was adjudged by Daljinder Singh Grewal, an alumni. From GGNIMT, First position was bagged by Sehajpreet from B.Sc (Fashion Designing) 2nd semester, second prize was bagged by Gunjan from B.Com (H) 4th semester, and Third brize was bagged by Shobha from BHMCT 2nd semester. The first position of Group Dance Competition of GGNIMT was bagged by team Punjabi mutiyara, girls from MCA, BBA, B.Sc (FD), and second by team being Punjabis students from B.Com (H) 4th semester. In the Solo Dance event of GGNIVS first prize was bagged by Lakshya Sharma from BBA 4th semester. The event was also attended by Sukhdev Singh, vice principal, Government senior secondary school, Millerganj. Madhav and Sanjana from BBA 2nd semester were declared as Mr. and Ms. Basant 2024 respectively.
Dr. S P Singh appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students and also the efforts of faculty members for organizing this event.Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT expressed the objective of organizing Spring Fest is to offer an opportunity to learn beyond books, which is a pre requisite for success in the intensely competitive world of today.
Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh appreciated the efforts of Entrepreneurship Club for putting up an impressive show and hoped that Spring Fest is a harbinger to their success as prospective business men. He hoped that GGNIMT students would build their businesses not only for generating personal wealth but also for the benefit of society. They appreciated the enthusiasm shown by the students and also the efforts of faculty members in organizing this event.
