Training & Placement Cell of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines Ludhiana in association with IIC-Institution Innovation Council organized an industrial visit for BBA students to Sudsons Woolens Pvt Ltd., one of the leading fashion manufacturers from the region. Sudsons manufactures scarves, shawls made ups and knitted fabric. Though their main business is in the global markets, they are now also exploring domestic markets. During the visit students were able to get a firsthand exposure to different activities like knitting, designing followed by production of accessories. GGNIMTians were advised to explore different processes and ask questions and clear their doubts by Mr. Gaurav Sood, Director who is also a BCA Alumnus of Ggnimt. He also briefed them about the various steps involved in the quality control and also their significance for brand building. Prof. Paramjit Singh & Prof. Gurleen Kaur from Dept. of Business Management guided the students during the visit.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ashok Sood, Managing Director, Sudsons for very kindly facilitating the industrial visit. Principal GGNIMT Dr. Harpreet Singh underscored the emphasis placed on industry and practical learning by GGNIMT. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Training & Placement Coordinator hoped that Sudsons would offer opportunities to GGNIMT students for internship and placement. ‘The day was well spent in terms of gaining knowledge, facts, and insight into what goes on in making the accessories that we wear ’ expressed Anchal . ‘This visit helped us understand challenges and opportunities in business, and this awareness would help us to plan for a rewarding career in the business world”. added Umang Pandey.
