Union Budget-2024 was discussed at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT),Civil Lines today. On Day 1 live presentation of Union Budget-2024 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was viewed by the students of MBA, BBA, B. Com Hons. This was followed by Sector wise presentations on the impact of the Union Budget on the Railways, Infrastructure, Taxation, Education, Start Ups, and Services sector, manufacturing industry and regional perspectives of the budget. The event was organized by the Department of Business Management of the college. Besides the teaching faculty of the college, more than 100 students attended the discussion.
The Faculty Team dwelt upon the expectations and deliverables from the interim budget. Rationale of the budget and also its likely impact on the economy was also deliberated upon. Students also actively participated in the review and presented their views. The session ended after an open house session in which students raised their queries related to the budget.
Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, congratulated the Business Management faculty for their initiative in organizing the discussion. He also hoped students would keep themselves abreast of economic policies and business events for success as entrepreneurs and managers. Dr Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT said that discussions on the Union Budget was essential as this would help them to identify opportunities for entrepreneurship and promising jobs. He advised them to also identify and develop the needed skills for fast track career growth.
