The Gurmat Sabha of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology, Civil Lines, Ludhiana organised a turban tying competition for its students. More than 50 students from BBA, BCA, Bcom(H), BHMCT, B.Sc. (FD) participated in this. Students tied turbans of various eye catching and beautiful hues and colours and tried their hands at different styles like Patiala Shahi, Amritsar Style, Morni Turban Style, Vattaan Wali style etc.
Dr Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT said it is high time that the young men take pride in tying the turban and also to popularise the turban tying amongst the youth.
Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT said, turban is considered to be a crown in the head of the wearer and represents pride, valor, and values. He said such competition should be organised on regular basis to teach the importance of turban to the youth.
