It is always an exciting moment in every one’s life to shift from school to college anticipating freedom and rejoicing in life. The college also gives a bigger platform to showcase unique traits of personality and talent to students. Every student wants to announce his or her arrival to college life by showcasing the talent. Freshers Party is always a big stage for such students.
GGN Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi organised an innovatively conceived event where freshers party was amalgamated to talent hunt as well. In this two -day fiesta, the endeavour was to hunt the fresh talent in the college (Reflexions-2024) and also to welcome the newcomers ( Aagman -2024) in the Institute.
The event began with the Director Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra’s inaugural address. He encouraged the fresher’s’ to participate in all the activities organized at the institution, as multitasking experiential learning contributes to success in business and professions. Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh, congratulated the participants for showcasing multiple facets of their personality.
Highlights of Aagman were the Personality Contest, Solo Song, Solo Dance, Group Dance and Instrumental playing Competitions. While in the Personality Contest 81 students contested for the honors of being Mr & Miss Fresher.
About 600 students from BCA, BBA, B.Com (Hons), BHMCT (Hotel Management), B.Sc (Fashion Technology), MBA and MCA participated to showcase their skills and participated in 18 Literary, fine arts and cultural events such as Fashion Show, Dance, Singing, Declamation, Creative Writing, Poetry, Rangoli, Mehndi, Cartooning, Quiz, instrument playing , still photography and salad making.
The day one was marked with events like Power Point Presentation, Creative Writing, Collage making, Poster Making, Quiz, Poem Recitation, Rangoli, Declamation, still Photography, Salad Making and Mehndi. The colourful Rangoli and beautifully crafted mehndi won many hearts. Students participating in still photography moved around every nook and corner of the campus to capture wide smiles and grins for their theme “Event moments”. The students of Event Collage making came out with beautiful and inspirational creations. The budding cartoonists made hilarious cartoons. The event Power point Presentations showcased a perfect combination of communication skills , technology and expressions.
The stage events were the star attraction for day two. Solo dance, solo song, group dance, and choreography mesmerized the gathering. Flashy attires, trendy accessories, enlightened faces and a zeal to win heart was all that was seen and felt in the air. Theme –based Fashion Show won many accolades.
A freshers contest was also organized to identify Mr. & Ms.Freshers- 2024. They were judged on the basis of their confidence, walk, attitude and promptness.
The title Mr. Personality and Ms. Personality was bagged by Guriqbal Singh from BCA and Anchal from MBA respectively. Arshdeep from MBA and Nancy from B.Sc FD won Mr. and Ms. well dressed. Nikhil Kapoor from BBA and Harman from MBA bagged Mr. Handsome and Ms. Beautiful respectively. Laksh from BCA won Mr. Stylish and Janvi from BHMCT won Ms. Smile. Ritesh from Bcom was declared Mr. Freshers in UG category and Ishtpreet Kaur from BHMCT won Ms. Freshers’ title. Shrey Sharma from MBA was declared Mr. Freshers and Arushi from MBA was announced Ms. Freshers under PG category.
