Training & Placement Cell of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines, Ludhiana launched a 45 days Life Skills Training Program for its final semester students. Director Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra explained the rationale of this course, as an initiative to bridge the skill gap between the current skills of students and the employer expectations from them as professionals. He emphasized that bridging the gap would enable the students to be placed at higher packages with best corporates in roles that lead to senior management. Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh congratulated the Training & Placement Cell for their initiative and he also advised the participants to pursue this course with full commitment and dedication. He also advised the students to imbibe the spirit of continuous learning for breakthrough results as professionals.
Placement Coordinator Dr. Parvinder Singh pointed out to the need for students to create differentiators with respect to both their technical and soft skills as organisations prefer holistic personalities. He added that this program would be mentored by both the GGNIMT faculty team of Prof. Priya Arora, Prof. Amritpreet, Prof. Paramjit, Prof. Anchal and also senior professionals and trainers from the industry. Prof. Priya Arora, Life Skills Course Coordinator elaborated the contents of this Course. She highlighted that the course would cover Communication Skills, Verbal Skills, Personal Grooming and Transformation Workshops, Basic Computing Skills, Group Discussion and Personal Interview Sessions. Abhishek a B.Com Sixth Sem participant felt this course would enable him to get a job at a package higher than his peers. Sujan a BCA student had identified a gap in his soft skills, which if improved could lead to a placement with a leading software player after graduation.
