Thinkers’ Forum- The Creativity and Innovation Club of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Civil Lines organised an Essay Writing Contest “WE SHALL WIN” for the students of class 11 and 12.
The competition witnessed a huge participation from all most all the Govt. and Private schools of Ludhiana apart from other cities of Punjab, UP, Haryana and Himachal. The students penned down their optimism, creative ideas, imagination and hope through a beautiful array of words, poetry and drawings. The essays were in-fact a brilliant display of varied calligraphy styles apart from their writing and idea generation skills. The activity intended to help the students look at the brighter side of the picture and develop a winning hope amongst them.
Amritpal from Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School, Megha Jain from KVM Public School, Anjali Garg from BCM Arya Model Sen. Sec. School , Inderpal Singh from Guru Nanak Public Sschool, Harshita Jain from DAV Public School, Neha Bhist from BCM Sen Sec School (Focal Point) , Dhairya from BCM Sen Sec School (Dugri), Navkiran Kaur from Guru Nanak International Public School, Ishrat Khan from BVM Public School (Udham Singh Nagar) and Rupinder Bhatti were the top 10 winners of the event. They were suitably awarded with e-certificates.
Dr. S. P Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC) said that this activity made an earnest effort of laying a foundation for the students to develop a sense of positivity , optimism and courage to fight out the odds of life. He congratulated the winners for showcasing exemplary writing and thinking skills.
Arvinder Singh, Secretary, GKEC, added that GGNIMT has been constructively keeping the students engaged during this lockdown period. He said such contests are a great way to enhance the fertility of young minds and to help them become wise and responsible citizens of the country.
Prof. Manjit S. Chhabra, Director, Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) said that the Essay Writing Contest focused on two aspects: aptitude to think critically and ability to express thoughts clearly and logically. He said the students must participate in essay wring competitions as they tend to become much better with every entry that they sends in. “The hard work one puts into writing and editing his write-ups will have the effect of honing his writing abilities, making him much better at banging out a top-notch essay and subsequently improving his content writing skill”, he added.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT shared that he was very delighted to read the essays as they were all original content written straight from the heart. He mentioned that most of the essays were very powerful, intriguing and moving, hitting the right emotional notes and making it difficult for the jury to pick up the top ten of them. He congratulated Mrs. Shallu Sood and Ms. Neha Erry for organizing this contest.
