Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) and Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Vocational Studies (GGNIVS), Civil Lines, Ludhiana celebrated the 353rd Prakash Purab of Guru Gobind Singh ji with great religious fervor, gaiety and devotion here today.
The event began with recitation of ‘Shri Jaap Sahib’and was followed by melodious kirtan . A series of ‘shabad’ in the mellow voice of GGNIMT students created a magic and piety in the environment.
The esteemed Office Bearers, Honourable Members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), Heads of the Institute, faculty members and students prayed for the prosperity of the society.
Dr. S. P Singh, Hony. General Secretary, GKEC, talked in length about Guru Ji’s simple but profound philosophy that rested on recognizing the fundamental Divinity of all people. He highlighted the teachings of Sikh Gurus who stood for national integration, peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. He urged the students to be sheltered under Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s guidance and inspiration by following strict moral code and spiritual discipline.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT& GGNIVS inspired the students by sharing the grand accomplishments of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He motivated the students to follow the path of honesty, love and sincerity. He also urged the students to carry forward the Sikh traditions with grace and pride.
Dr.Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT while addressing the gathering encouraged the students to stay connected to their roots and follow the principles of Sikhism. He said that turbaned sikh commands more respect and has a more impressive personality. . He encouraged devotees to follow the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Devji which are very relevant these days. He motivated the students to deeply understand the meaning of Khalsa to live a successful and fulfilling life.
The students were made to witness historical lectures and videos as a part of praising the Guruji on his birthday.
The event preceded with a turban tying competition, where students participated whole heartedly. S. Bhagwant Singh, S. Kuljeet Singh, S.Arvinder Singh and S. Jasbir Singh, the esteemed members of Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council also graced the occasion and presided over the prize distribution ceremony.
After the culmination of the congregation the traditional Guru-Ka-Langar was served to all the devotees.
