Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi being run by Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC), organized a webinar on “Dynamics of Modern E-Commerce in India.

More than two hundred participants including students, professionals, academicians and researchers joined the session on E-Commerce With a view to uncover and understand the dynamics of modern E- Commerce in India.

While delivering the inaugural address of the webinar Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, director, GGNIMT, said that  Electronic commerce draws on technologies as electronic funds transfer, supply chain management, Internet marketing, online transaction processing, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, and automated data collection systems.“Electronic commerce is generally considered to be the sales aspect of e-business. But it also consists of the exchanging of data to facilitate the financing and payment aspects of business transactions”, he said.

Dr. Satinder Kumar, Assistant Professor, School of Management Studies, Patiala, discussed in details about the concept of E-Commerce Marketing and its models. He also stress upon E-Commerce marketing strategies for B2C Market with reference to Search Engine Optimization, Content Marketing, Virtual marketing and Email marketing etc.

 

Dharamvir Puri, Director, Quantum Group London,United Kingdom, talked about Future of Financial services .He focused on Embedded, Integrated and Automated Financial services. He said, “its difficult to increase revenue engines but that the road to profit is easier through a partnership”.

Dr. Prateek Kalia, Masaryk University, Dept. of Corporate Economy, Faculty of Economics and Administration, Lipova Brno, Czech Republic, shared deep insights about Artificial intelligence in E- Commerce. He emphasized on the important of Artificial intelligence and how E- Commerce business process is related to E- Commerce. He also touched upon machine learning, deep learning and AI exceeding human intelligence.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, principal GGNIMT shared his opinion and gave his valedictory remarks with the participants. He said, “In the past we could not imagine that e-business will grow at such an unstoppable rate in India where we could not buy the things without touch and feel experience. But now young generation is driving the shift to online shopping. The great philosophies of great entrepreneurs   of e-business platforms like Amazon, flipchart, snap deal are working behind this transformation”.

While proposing the vote of thanks, Dr. Parvinder Singh, Head dept. of business management, GGNIMT said that while governments worldwide shutting stores and implementing lockdowns to restrict social movement for months on end in a bid to combat the corona virus, more and more people are resorting to online shopping to purchase items. And experts predict that the impact of the corona virus will not just be a short-term boost to ecommerce but one that’s here to stay, even after COVID-19. This is because people will get comfortable with the comfort and convenience it offers and the benefits of contactless payments, both of which are likely to cause a permanent behavioral shift towards digital purchases, he said.
