Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi
organized ‘Gurmat Smagam’ to mark the beginning of new academic session here today. The
event began with the Shri Sukhmani Sahib Path, recited by the teachers and students of the
Institute. This was followed by shabad kirtan  by Ramanpreet Singh, Harjot Singh & Yuvraj Singh, the students of GGNIMT.

Dr. S. P Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Education
Council (GKEC) and  former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University,  Amritsar
graced the occasion with other office bearers and members of GKEC. He addressed the gathering and reminded the youth of
the principles of Sikhism. He motivated them to carry forward the societal traditions with honesty,
grace and pride. He further guided the students by mentioning that life is a journey and allowing
oneself to change and be an open-minded part of that journey will make one’s life more vibrant
and successful.

Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra,  director, GGNIMT welcomed the students to the Institute and inspired them to stay connected to their roots. He urged them to work hard and bring laurels to the
institute. He also encouraged the students to remember Almighty every moment to keep bad
habits, worries and unwanted situations at bay. He advised the students to take risks, work with
passion, and never give up. He reflected upon the importance of offline system and following up
of pandemic related protocols as well.

Dr. Harpreet Singh, principal, GGNIMT inspired the students to acquire education with sincerity
and honesty so that it brings good to them and their country. He shared Shri Guru Harkrishan
Sahib ji’s life incident reflects the power and importance of staying truthful and dedicated.
He guided the students to devote time for spiritual doings also.

He further said that blessings of parents are of utmost importance to everyone’s life.
He motivated the students by explaining Gurbani Shabad ‘Nishchaye kar apni jeet karo’.
The students of varied departments were also honoured for winning the Mehandi Competition held at campus in previous days. Neetu Singh from MBA was awarded first prize. Second Prize

was bagged by Neelam Verma from B.Sc Fashion Designing and Kritika Kakkar from Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Third position was bagged by Sapna and Sonia Kumari from B.Sc Fashion Design.  Consolation prizes were awarded to Radhika from B.Sc Fashion Design and Kirti Malhotra from

BCA first year and Aanchal Verma from MCA third semester.
