The NSS Unit and Rotaract Club of GGNIMT organised a signature campaign to commemorate International Mother Language Day. Theme of this campaign was ‘Meri Maa Boli, Mera maan, Meri Bhasha, Meri Pehchaan
Prof. Manjit S Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT said “Mother tongue is pivotal for building successful individuals and professionals. We are moving towards the western culture so fast but leaving our culture behind. It becomes important for us to go back to our roots again and work for building a better future for our coming generations”.
Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal, GGNIMT advised students to not only study their own mother language but also understand other native languages, to have a finer understanding of the diversity of our nation. He also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Vijay Rajan, Dr. Charanjeet Singh, Prof. Jagmeet Singh & Prof. Priya Arora for motivating and mentoring the students.
Around 300 people from the city signed the banners in hindi and Punjabi. Umang Pandey a signatory said ‘This initiative was an eye opener, as I had never signed in punjabi. From now onwards, i will prefer signing in my Ma Boli Punjabi.Sagar, another signatory, signed in hindi and appreciated the initiative of Ggnimt in promoting native languages.
