A Ten Day Fashion Photography workshop for its Fashion Design students was organised  by Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GGNIMT) Civil Lines. This workshop was conducted  by Mr. Suresh Sharda, a nationally acclaimed and globally trained professional photographer with more than three decades of experience in the field. Sharda listed the objectives of this workshop were to sensitise the students about the importance of showcasing their creative skills, training them on various aspects of visual presentation and also understand the nuances of light, background and focus in photography. Prof. Gurleen Kaur, Head, Department of Fashion Design hoped that students would practice on the skills learnt during their workshop, as effective presentation and display of fashion products could contribute to their success as designers and fashion entrepreneurs.

Sharda focused on the importance of light management and background selection for designing souvenirs and brochures. Students were given hands on training on lighting setup, photo shoot conceptualisation, usage of DSLR  cameras. They were also sensitised about the selection of pixel size, image size poses and focus point for shooting with the help of a professional camera. Sharda was impressed by the keen interest and willingness of students to learn as most of them had little experience with DSLR cameras. Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director GGNIMT advised the students to start practising on the skills learnt during the workshop for enhancing their prospects for employability and entrepreneurial success. Dr. Parvinder Singh, Principal GGNIMT thanked Mr.Suresh Sharda for conducting the workshop and also enthusing the students to experiment and collaborate for professional growth. Gajmukta a final year student felt the workshop was an eye opener for them, as up to now their focus was on garment design and production, while success as a fashion professional was dependent on their skills of presentation and promotion of their creations.                                                     For Jaspreet, a first year student the workshop helped her realize both her creativity and also the ability to visualize and design garments. Harleen, who both modeled and photographed others appreciated the initiative of Prof. Rajul Jain in coordinating the workshop.
