A Dori Killi-String Art Workshop was organized by Panache Club of Fashion Design Department at Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology, (GGNIMT) Civil Lines. Mentor for this creative workshop was Ms. Kanwalpreet Narula, promoter of Falana Dhimkana a traditional handicrafts venture, During this workshop Kanwal trained the students on the basic concept and then asked them to experiment with their motifs and colors to unleash their creativity. Kanwalpreet who is a qualified chartered accountant urged the students to nurture their talent by experimenting and exploring different art forms and handicrafts.

While Introducing Ms. Kanwalpreet to the students, Principal Dr. Harpreet Singh advised the fashion design students to be open about experimenting with different mediums and wherever possible reuse, recycle and create artefacts that are original and innovative. During the workshop students designed and created geometric mandalas of different colors. Uday a sixth semester student was impressed by both the symmetry and simplicity of creating the dori killi mandalas. Zofisha Khan a second semester student hoped that Panache Club would organize more workshops, as they unraveled the hidden talent of students.

Director Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra expressed his gratitude to Ms. Kanwalpreet for mentoring the members of Panache on this creative art. He also advised the students to be passionate about designing and also encouraged them to think out of the box for achieving success and excellence. He also congratulated the Fashion Design Department Faculty Team of Prof. Gurleen, Prof. Maganpreet and Prof. Rishita Sharma for organizing the activity and motivating the students.
